CoronaVirus(COVID-19)
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause respiratory infections.
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
COVID-19 affects different people in different ways.
Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization,it can make some people very ill. More rarely, the disease can be fatal.
Older people, and those with pre- existing medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes) appear to be more vulnerable.
The real threat of coronavirus is that it can be transmitted from person to person.
History of CoronaVirus (COVID‐19):
COVID-19 likely originated in a “wet market" in Wuhan, China. A wet market refers to a marketplace with vendors selling live animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, and bats.
On 31 December 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) was formally notified about a cluster of cases of pneumonia in Wuhan City.
By 5 January, 59 cases were known and none had been fatal.Ten days later, WHO was aware of 282 confirmed cases, of which four were in Japan, South Korea and Thailand. There had been six deaths in Wuhan, 51 people were severely ill and 12 were in a critical condition.
The virus responsible was isolated on 7 January and its genome shared on 12 January. The cause of the severe acute respiratory syndrome that became known as COVID‐19 was a novel coronavirus, SARS‐CoV‐2.
Pakistan Scenario:
The virus was confirmed to have reached Pakistan on 26 February 2020, when two cases were recorded (a student in Karachi who had just returned from Iran and another person in the Islamabad Capital Territory).
On 18 March, cases had been registered in all four provinces, and by 17 June, each district in Pakistan had recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID-19.

Self care are best treatment of this CoronaVirus.
Plasma from blood donated from recovered patients, which contains COVID-19 antibodies, this plasma can be used to treat other patients.
Recovery time:
Recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks and is 3-6 weeks for patients with severe or critical disease.
Genomic Sequencing:
A research group in China has sequenced the genome of the COVID-19 virus and reported that the virus most likely originated from bats.
China have sequenced the genome of the COVID-19 virus demonstrating that it is a completely new virus, closely related to the coronavirus (CoV) responsible for severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
